چکیده

Phase equilibria analysis in two-phase systems requires discernment of the individual phases as well interfacial region. The phase behavior fluids constraint geometries have been studied through several techniques. High-Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (HF-NMR) can be used to detect fluid phases, i.e. gas, liquid, or supercritical fluid, bulk under confinement. In solution-state HF-NMR, each exhibits a distinct chemical shift that correlates density. turn, emergence multimodal NMR spectra reveals coexistence multiple systems. Our results for ethane show HF-NMR enable tracking changes bulk, but also macro-scale (10–100′s μm pore size) porous at various pressure and temperature conditions, even when system us out equilibrium. These creates potential opportunities investigate influenced by confinement systems, though additional steps are necessary.

High-resolution zero-field NMR J-spectroscopy of aromatic compounds.

We report the acquisition and interpretation of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) J-spectra at zero magnetic field for a series of benzene derivatives, demonstrating the analytical capabilities of zero-field NMR. The zeroth-order spectral patterns do not overlap, which allows for straightforward determination of the spin interactions of substituent functional groups. Higher-order effects cause a...

High-resolution NMR studies of encapsulated proteins in liquid ethane.

Many of the difficulties presented by large, aggregation-prone, and membrane proteins to modern solution NMR spectroscopy can be alleviated by actively seeking to increase the effective rate of molecular reorientation. An emerging approach involves encapsulating the protein of interest within the protective shell of a reverse micelle and dissolving the resulting particle in a low viscosity flui...

Probing liquid-liquid interfaces with spatially resolved NMR spectroscopy.

Phenomena occurring at the interface between two immiscible liquids have a deep impact on many processes of everyday life. The stability of emulsions depends on the interaction of proteins or surfactants at the oil–water interface. Solvent extraction and phase-transfer catalysis rely on optimizing reactions at the boundary of two liquids. Moreover, the liquid–liquid interface between an organic...

Probing solvent accessibility of amyloid fibrils by solution NMR spectroscopy.

Amyloid is the result of an anomalous protein and peptide aggregation, leading to the formation of insoluble fibril deposits. At present, 18 human diseases have been associated with amyloid deposits-e.g., Alzheimer's disease and Prion-transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies. The molecular structure of amyloid is to a large extent unknown, because of lack of high-resolution structural informat...

Probing polar molecules with high harmonic spectroscopy.

We bring the methodology of orienting polar molecules together with the phase sensitivity of high harmonic spectroscopy to experimentally compare the phase difference of attosecond bursts of radiation emitted upon electron recollision from different ends of a polar molecule. This phase difference has an impact on harmonics from aligned polar molecules, suppressing emission from the molecules pa...
